What belongs on a website for a trade business

  • Phone number always visible. On a phone as a fixed call button. Someone with water damage does not read texts.
  • Emergency service clearly stated. If you offer an emergency service, it goes right at the top with number and hours. If you do not, that is stated too.
  • Services one by one. One page per service, for example bathroom renovation, heating replacement or roof windows. That way Google finds you for exactly that search.
  • Service area with places. The towns and districts where you work. People searching in neighbouring villages should find you too.
  • Before and after. Photos of real jobs with one sentence on what was done. That convinces more than any description.
  • Enquiry with photo upload. Customers send a picture of the problem straight away. That often saves you the first site visit entirely.
  • Job openings. Journeymen and apprentices search online too. You enter open positions yourself in the admin area.

The pages we usually build

  • Home page
  • Services
  • References
  • Service area
  • Emergency service
  • About us
  • Careers
  • Contact

Common mistakes on today's websites

  • All services sit on a single page as a long list, so Google does not find any of them properly.
  • The reference photos come from a stock library and not from your own jobs.
  • The service area is missing, so people call from 80 kilometres away.

What belongs in the Impressum of a trade business?

Besides the details required by § 5 DDG (German Digital Services Act), for trades that require a licence: the competent chamber of crafts, the entry in the register of craftsmen and the professional title with the state that granted it, plus, where required, details of professional liability insurance. If in doubt, have your chamber confirm the details.

How do tradespeople get jobs through the website?

With one page per service, real photos of finished work, a clearly stated service area and an enquiry form where customers can upload photos. That saves site visits. Emergency services belong at the very top with hours and costs. Our team has built, among others, the website of Autoglas Blitz in Hamburg, which according to our measurement was found on Google twice as often as before.

Frequently asked questions

I have no time to deal with the website. Does it still work?

Yes. We take care of concept, texts, design and moving your content. If you wish, you look at a draft first.

Can I upload new job photos myself?

Yes. In the admin area you upload images and change texts and pages yourself. If you want something different in the layout, we do that, and 10 minutes per month are included.

What does it cost per year?

Building is free. Hosting with care is cheaper than today. You get the exact yearly price in writing before you commit.

Will the website be mine?

Yes, with source code, files and content. If you leave, you take everything with you at no charge and can run the site with any provider.
