Why businesses leave Squarespace
- The export is limited. According to the Squarespace help pages, the platform exports only part of your content as a WordPress file. Images can't be downloaded in one go, and if you have several blogs, only one is exported.
- Billing is split across several subscriptions. According to Squarespace, website, domains, email campaigns and Google Workspace are separate subscriptions. Cancelling one doesn't cancel the others.
- The site belongs to the platform. A Squarespace site only runs there. With us the source code is yours, and you can keep the site running with any provider.

How the move works
- 1
Back up what's there
We take over the text, images and structure of your site while it's online. According to Squarespace, before cancelling you should export what you want to keep, such as products or mailing lists as CSV.
- 2
Rebuild with preview
We build the new website. If you'd like, you see a draft first.
- 3
Point your domain
If your domain is with another provider, we only change the DNS records there. If it's with Squarespace, it stays a separate subscription, and we switch its records to the new site.
- 4
Check other subscriptions
We go through with you which add-on subscriptions are running, for example Google Workspace for email, so nothing keeps running by accident or suddenly stops.
- 5
Cancel the website subscription
You cancel the website subscription at the end of the paid period. Our billing only starts then, at the latest 5 months after you say yes.
Cancel Squarespace
According to the Squarespace help pages, you cancel the website subscription in your site's Billing area under Subscriptions with Cancel subscription. With monthly payment the site stays active until the end of the billing period, and there is no refund. Squarespace refunds annual plans in full if they are cancelled within 14 days of the first payment. Domains and other subscriptions keep running until you cancel them one by one.

Frequently asked questions
Can I export my whole Squarespace site?
According to Squarespace, only partly, as a WordPress file with selected content. We rebuild the site and carry over all your content, at no cost to you.
My email runs through Google Workspace at Squarespace. What happens to it?
According to Squarespace, Workspace is a separate subscription and doesn't end when you cancel the website. Your email can stay exactly as it is.
Is that cheaper than Squarespace?
Hosting with care costs less with us than with your current provider. You get the exact yearly price in writing before you say yes.
Can I edit content myself with you?
Yes, text, images and pages in the admin area. There is no open website builder. We handle layout changes, and 10 minutes a month are included.
