Why businesses leave the STRATO Homepage-Baukasten
- One month's notice before the term ends. According to STRATO, a cancellation has to arrive at least one month before the end of the term. If you miss the deadline, you stay in the contract for another term.
- Cancelling the package means cancelling the domain. According to STRATO, cancelling a package also cancels the domains included in it. If you want to keep the domain, plan for that beforehand.
- Export only as a static copy. STRATO describes export as saving the page in your browser or with a program such as HTTrack. That doesn't give you an editable website.

How the move works

Back up what's there
We take over the text, images and structure of your site while it's online. According to STRATO, data is no longer available after the contract ends.

Rebuild with preview
We build the new website. If you'd like, you see a draft first.

Secure the domain
Because cancelling the package at STRATO also affects the domains, we sort out the route first: either move the domain to another provider, for which STRATO says you need an AuthInfo code, or adjust the contract so the domain stays.

Secure the mailboxes
According to STRATO, neither website content nor email mailboxes move along with a domain transfer. We back them up with you beforehand and set them up again if you like.

Cancel on time
You cancel at least one month before the end of the term. Our billing only starts when the STRATO contract ends, at the latest 5 months after you say yes.
Cancel the STRATO Homepage-Baukasten
According to STRATO, you cancel online in the customer login under Your contract, Cancellation and cancellation of order, or by phone with your service PIN, via the contact form or in writing. The cancellation has to arrive at least one month before the end of the term. Cancelling a whole package also cancels all add-on products and domains in it. According to STRATO, you can withdraw a cancellation in the login up to 30 days before the cancellation date.

Do I lose my domain if I cancel at STRATO?
According to STRATO, cancelling a package also cancels the domains included in it. That's why we sort out the route for your domain before you cancel. With us a domain costs €12 a year, but it can also stay with a provider of your choice.
Can I export my STRATO site?
STRATO only describes a static copy made through the browser or a program such as HTTrack. So we rebuild the site and carry over your content, at no cost to you.
I missed the notice period. What now?
Then your STRATO contract runs for another term. Our billing still starts at the latest 5 months after you say yes, and until then the old site can keep running alongside.
What does the new website cost?
The build costs nothing. After that you pay once a year for hosting with care, cheaper than today, as a final price, with no minimum term.
