Where is Wix better?
On design. Elements can be moved freely, and there are many templates and a large app market for booking, shop, multilingual sites and more. If you want a distinctive look and enjoy designing, Wix takes you further.
Where is Jimdo better?
On simplicity and on the price including tax. Jimdo is deliberately plain, so there is less to get wrong. The provider is based in Germany, and prices are shown gross. For a small online business card that is often enough.
What do they have in common?
The site isn't yours. According to the Wix help pages, a Wix site can't be exported, and according to the Jimdo help pages, content doesn't move with the domain. Maintenance stays with you. And both are a subscription with no end.
Which builder is better for Google?
Both offer the basics such as title, description and sitemap. Jimdo limits the Start plan to 10 subpages, which is tight for several service pages. Wix often loads more code, which can slow things down on a phone. In the end, what counts is good content, one page per service and a well-kept Google Business Profile.
What do our numbers say?
Of the first 35 customers at freeehouse in October 2026, 12 came from Jimdo and 8 from Wix. In both groups the main reasons were the same: little time for upkeep, a site that no longer fits the business, and rising costs.
Our recommendation
- You like designing and want freedom: Wix.
- You want a simple site, finished fast, German provider: Jimdo.
