Another website builder?
On price alone, hardly any builder is cheaper than STRATO Plus after the promotion. Switching to Wix or Squarespace pays off if you want more design options and like building yourself. Either way the move means a rebuild, because according to its own help pages STRATO only offers a static copy of the site.
WordPress at STRATO or elsewhere?
STRATO also offers WordPress hosting. With WordPress the site is yours, but you need someone for updates. If you run an older WordPress site at STRATO, check whether extra costs apply for an outdated PHP version. Such an item is often a sign that the site has not been looked after for a while.
A hand-built website?
For businesses with no time for upkeep, a hand-built website with ongoing care is the most convenient solution. The domain can stay in a small STRATO domain package if you like.

When is the right time to switch?
At STRATO the end of the term is what counts, because the cancellation has to arrive one month before, or the contract renews. Plan the switch so that the new site is ready a few weeks before that date. If you have missed the deadline, use the time until the next date to finish the new site calmly.
What do I take with me from STRATO?

- the list of all page addresses for redirects
- DNS records, especially for email
