Which Wix plans are there and what do they cost?

Wix has a free plan and several premium plans. For businesses the two smaller ones are the most interesting. The figures come from the Wix pricing page, retrieved on 22 October 2026.

PlanPrice per month, paid yearlyStorageWhat for
Light€14 plus tax2 GBsimple website with your own domain
Core€25 plus tax50 GBwith online payments, for example for small shops

Wix quotes the prices without tax. The tax depends on your billing address. With 19% VAT, €14 net becomes €16.66 gross per month, so just under €200 a year. As a business that can deduct input VAT, the net amount counts for you; as a small business owner exempt from VAT, the gross amount does.

What is included in the price and what is not?

Hosting, security certificate and templates are included. According to the pricing page, a domain is free in the first year. From the second year you pay for it on top. Wix shows the exact amount in your account at renewal.

An email mailbox is not in the price overview. Wix sells business email through Google Workspace in three plans: Business Starter, Business Standard and Business Plus. Wix shows the prices in your account under Business email address. Many businesses have their mailbox elsewhere anyway, for example with their domain provider or at Microsoft 365.

Extra features often come through apps from the Wix marketplace. Some are free, others cost extra every month, for example for bookings, multiple languages or reviews.

What do businesses actually pay?

When businesses told us their Wix price in October 2026, the yearly amounts were mostly between roughly €150 and €300, with a few above €400 including domain, mailbox and extra apps. These are figures from conversations, not a representative survey. But they show that the bill is often higher than the plan price on the marketing page.

Typical items that make the plan more expensive:

  • the domain from the second year
  • one or more mailboxes through Google Workspace
  • apps for bookings, multiple languages or social media embedding
  • a bigger plan because a feature is only included there

How do I work out my real Wix costs?

Do not use the price from the marketing page, use your latest invoice. You will find it in your Wix account under Billing and payments or under Premium subscriptions. Then calculate like this:

  1. 1

Plan price per year, consistently net or gross.

  2. 2

Domain per year, if no longer in the plan.

  3. 3

    Mailboxes per year.

  4. 4

All apps with a monthly fee times twelve.

  5. 5

Your own time for upkeep and changes, estimated honestly.

Only this total is comparable. An example over three years is in the guide Website costs over three years.

Why is Wix more expensive for many than it looks?

The biggest item is often not money but time. With Wix you build and maintain the site yourself. Anyone who writes texts, crops images and adjusts templates in the evening pays with their free time. On top of that, a Wix site cannot be exported according to the Wix help pages. If you switch after years, you rebuild. The money that went into the site stays with Wix.

Is switching worth it for the costs alone?

Not always. If you pay very little, enjoy designing yourself and are happy with loading speed and findability, there is no compelling reason. A switch is more worthwhile if you spend a lot of time on the site, it is slow or you want to take it with you one day. The routes you have are covered under Wix alternatives.

At freeehouse, rebuilding your Wix site costs nothing. You only pay for hosting with care, once a year and cheaper than your current Wix plan. You get your exact price in writing before you decide. Claim your spot on the waiting list
