What belongs on a midwife's website?
- Service area clearly named, ideally with the places you travel to.
- Capacity: For which birth months you still accept enquiries. A field you change yourself saves many emails turning people down.
- Services: antenatal care, postnatal care, breastfeeding advice, courses, depending on what you offer.
- Courses with dates, place, price and registration.
- Costs: that many services are covered by health insurance, and which are private.
- Enquiry form with due date and place of residence, with no further health details required.
Why is the enquiry form so important?
Because midwives get many enquiries and need to see quickly whether they fit. A form with due date, place of residence and the service wanted saves back and forth. Health data is specially protected under Art. 9 GDPR (DSGVO). So only ask for what you need for the first reply, and point out the processing clearly.
What should I watch in advertising law?
For midwives too, the German Medicinal Products Advertising Act (Heilmittelwerbegesetz) applies where health is involved: no promises, no guarantees. Describe factually what you offer and how care works.
What belongs in the Impressum?
Midwife is a protected professional title. Besides the details required by § 5 DDG (German Digital Services Act), regulated professions must put the professional title, the state that granted it and the professional rules in the Impressum (the legal notice German law requires), and where relevant the competent supervisory authority. Your professional association helps with the exact wording.
Which pages do we usually build?
- Home page with service area, capacity and enquiry
- Services in pregnancy, postnatal period and breastfeeding
- Courses with dates
- About me or team
- Frequently asked questions, such as when to get in touch
- Contact, Impressum, privacy
What about course registration?
Courses can be shown directly on the website with dates you manage yourself in your admin area. Registrations arrive by form. If you already use a course or booking system, we embed it.
We build your midwife website for free, with service area, a capacity field and course dates that you manage yourself. You only pay for hosting with care, cheaper than today.
What if I have no capacity left?
Then say so clearly on the home page, with the date from which you accept enquiries again. If possible, point to midwife lists or referral services in your region. That helps parents and saves you many emails you would have to turn down.
Which questions do parents ask most often?
- When should I get in touch?
- What does health insurance pay?
- Do you also come to our home, and to which places?
- When is the next course, and how do I sign up?
- What if I need to reach you at short notice?
These questions belong in a section of frequently asked questions on the website.
