Website for naturopaths

A good website for Heilpraktiker (German alternative practitioners) explains calmly and factually who you are, how you work and how to get an appointment, and it follows the German Medicinal Products Advertising Act (HWG): no promises of cure, no guarantees of success, no before-and-after stories with claims of effect. We build it for free, you only pay for hosting.

What belongs on a website for Heilpraktiker?

  • Who you are. Training, licence, focus areas, a real photo. With Heilpraktiker, people choose largely by trust.
  • Methods explained factually. What happens in a session, how long it takes, what the aim is. Without promising what it cures.
  • Costs. Price per session, whether private supplementary insurance may reimburse, and that statutory insurers generally do not pay.
  • How the first session works. Many hesitate because they do not know what to expect.
  • Appointment request, simple and with no mandatory fields about complaints.
  • Directions, access and accessibility of the practice.

What does the Medicinal Products Advertising Act forbid?

As soon as your website refers to illnesses or complaints, the Medicinal Products Advertising Act applies. Important for Heilpraktiker:

  • No misleading promises of effect under § 3 HWG, for example that a method cures an illness or works reliably.
  • No guarantees of success.
  • Caution with case stories and patient testimonials. § 11 HWG restricts advertising with statements by third parties and medical histories.
  • A note on the state of evidence for methods whose effectiveness is scarcely proven scientifically. Courts have repeatedly required this.

Better than any promise: explain factually what you do and what people can expect in your practice.

What applies to Heilpraktiker for psychotherapy?

Under the German Psychotherapists Act (Psychotherapeutengesetz), the title Psychotherapeut is reserved for licensed (approbiert) professionals. If you hold a Heilpraktiker licence restricted to psychotherapy, you call yourself Heilpraktikerin or Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie, also in the page title, in the Google profile and in structured data. Pages on mental health topics should include a pointer to help in a crisis, such as the telephone counselling service Telefonseelsorge on 0800 111 0 111.

Which mandatory details do I need?

Besides the usual details under § 5 DDG (German Digital Services Act), activities that require a licence need the competent supervisory authority in the Impressum (the legal notice German law requires), for Heilpraktiker usually the public health office that issued the licence. If in doubt, have these details confirmed by a specialist or your professional association.

What about privacy in the contact form?

Details about complaints are health data and specially protected under Art. 9 GDPR (DSGVO). Do not make them a required field in the form. If people are to write something voluntarily, you need a clear notice and as a rule explicit consent. No tracking and no advertising pixels on health pages.

Which pages do we usually build?

  • Home page with a short introduction and appointment request
  • one page per method or focus area
  • About me with training and approach
  • Costs and reimbursement
  • Process and frequently asked questions
  • Contact, directions, Impressum, privacy

Are there examples?

Our team has built, among others, the website of a Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie in Dannenberg. You find more projects from practice and therapy under references.

We build your Heilpraktiker website for free and take care of the Medicinal Products Advertising Act, professional title and privacy. You only pay for hosting with care, cheaper than today. Texts with professional claims only go live after your approval.

Frequently asked questions

May I show patient testimonials on my website?

Only to a very limited extent. § 11 HWG restricts advertising with statements by third parties and medical histories. If in doubt, have it checked.

May I write what my method helps against?

Carefully. Describe what people come to you for and how you work, without promising a cure.

Do I have to mention the state of evidence?

For methods whose effectiveness is scarcely proven scientifically, a factual note is advisable, courts have required it.

May I call myself a psychotherapist?

Only with a licence (Approbation). With a Heilpraktiker licence for psychotherapy, it is Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie.
